| The Elginkan Foundation was established in 1985 to perpetuate the industrial companies founded by the Elginkan Family and to realize their ideal of doing good deeds for the country. The Elginkan Foundation is on a mission to evaluate human, cultural and scientific accumulations of our country. The main objectives of the foundation are supporting, protecting, preserving and promoting our cultural heritage and values; encouraging scientific, technological and educational activities; opening and operating educational institutions to contribute to the training of qualified labor force, and to present these services nationwide. As an example to success in our country, the Elginkan Foundation established the Ümmehan Elginkan Vocational and Technical Training Center in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone in 1994. From 1994, when the vocational and technical training center was established, till January 31st of 2005, over 86,800 individuals received free training. In October 2003, the other Elginkan Foundation's Vocational and Technical Training
Center was establishad in Bolu training experts that will contribute to the increase of production, yield and quality in Turkish industry by arranging periodical training courses. An important educational service led by our Foundation is the integration of the needy to professional life. Ever since its establishment, the Foundation also gave scholarships to 104 students doing their masters and doctorate degrees.  Furthermore, the Foundation contributed to the revival of historic values by restoring the Gevher Sultan Medresesi (Gevher Sultan High School) in Istanbul and Sübyan Mektebi (Primary School) in Manisa. The Elginkan Foundation was awarded the "Successful New Foundation" prize in 1998 by the Prime Ministry General Directorate of Foundations for its successful works in education and culture. We did not and will not forget the Elginkan Family principle of "Earthly possessions have value as long as they are useful for the people.
